Location Scouting

For our location, we needed somewhere that would portray a racing film straight away, and obviously a race track is the best best to do this. It was easy to organise as my school is right next to it, so we didn't need permission from Silverstone as we didn't actually go onto the track. This is a good area to film as there is a lot of space, which means we have a lot more options with the camera. Also, the Silverstone logo will let the audience know immediately that this is a car film as Silverstone is one of the most famous race tracks in the world. This also means we can film a car in it's stereotypical location, which will give the audience the idea that this is a car film.

The photo below is a picture of garages, where we hope to film in one of them. This may be hard as we'll have to ask if we're allowed to film in there, and even if we are, we'll need to scout it out first as we don't know exactly what they'll look like inside, as it might not be suitable for what we're trying to do, which is to create a silhouette of a man walking towards the light.

Make up

We have 1 character, but he'll be shown in different times, so the make up will help to portray an injury. We want him to have a burn on one side of his face, so to do this we'll need watch some tutorials, and this one seems to be the best https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDjT9z6Spgw

We'll have to practise this before filming day so we know exactly what we're doing so we don't waste

time trying and probably failing to do it. 

This image shows the look we're going for, it doesn't cover the whole face, as that would be a lot harder to

do, as well as more time consuming, and we don't have much time to do this. However, it does cover a majority

of the face and clearly shows a burn scar.

Lighting

We will be filming in a dark garage for most of it, but there will be natural lighting coming from behind, to create a silhouette so we can't see his face, which is the effect we want, so any more light will not show the silhouette. However, when he gets close to the camera at the end, we want to see his face, so we might need one light so we can see his scars etc. but nothing too drastic

Other than that, we'll be filming outside in the day time, so we won't need anymore extra light as natural light will be fine

Middleaged man:Trilby hat, long black over coat, beige chinos, smart shirt, tie/bow tie and Chelsea boots.

Young racer: racing suit, helmet, gloves and boots.

Car checkers: black suits

Team members: overalls and head sets

there is not much casting needed, the only cast member who needed an audition was the actor for the main character. Me and Alex have decided the I would play the main character, I have been in many school productions at my old school and I have done many drama and acting classes, this was enough  for both me and Alex to agree on me playing the main character.

There will also be some background characters, who do not really need and audition as they will not have any lines and will be there to mainly there to make the shots look busy and fill the empty spaces.
