This opening scene starts straight off with iconography everywhere, as it begins with some early morning long shots of a race track, this immediately signifies to the audience that this is a racing film.

The scene carries on with the shots of the track, and now we have been shown shots of NASCAR’s and drivers. The drivers are all wearing professional race suits with sponsorship all over them, this signifies that there is a race happening and that this is a very competitive race.

The whole track has flags on the side lines, all showing of different companies, this signifies that this is a very important race, so something with a lot of action is going to happen.
