iconograpy in dukes of hazard

Opening scene of dukes of hazard
Looking at the iconography

The iconography of a typical car action film in the opening scene doesn’t pop up till about a minute into the film, but when it does show up it shows up hard.

The first 55 seconds of this opening scene have no iconography of a typical car action film, but after that there is a clear and obvious piece of iconography, there is an orange 1960 Dodge charger that jumps into the shot. This signifies that this is a fast pace and dangerous race film.

After that there is the mid shot of the two drivers, where we can tell there both young, adventures and they’re both hillbillies. They are also working against the law, shown through a close up of moon shined alcohol in the back of the car.

There are then many shots of the car drifting in the dusty roads, this signifies that this is a fast and dare devilish film, which are all trates of an action/adventure film.
